Teeth Whitening

Teeth whitening is a process that can be conducted in your home or in the dentist’s office. In-office whitening methods are the more effective option, according to most dental professionals, and will yield better results than the store-bought methods. In-office, Dr. Kinn have the capability to fix any kind of dental issues the individual may be facing, like tooth sensitivity and cavities. They will also ensure that the patient’s gums are guarded against the whitening agents.

Even though over-the-counter whitening tools are relatively cheap, it would be wise to have a conversation with Dr. Kinn before purchasing them.

In-office whitening can require 1 to 3 sessions, depending upon how serious the discoloration is. Dr. Kinn will create a special mouthpiece that matches the individual’s teeth for future use in at-home treatments, which will help them maintain the whitening benefits. Typically, results will be seen in a few weeks.

It’s important to remember that enamel whitening is not permanent, so it’s paramount that the patient talks about further treatment options with Dr. Kinn.

Veneers

Veneers are a durable solution for individuals who would like small corrective treatments for issues like fractures, discolored teeth, and gap teeth. One of the doctors will remove around one millimeter of tooth enamel prior to attaching the porcelain veneers to your teeth. After the veneers are finished, it is almost impossible to differentiate them from your natural teeth.

Maintaining veneers requires nothing extraordinary. Regular brushing and flossing with non-abrasive toothpaste will keep them healthy and strong. The patient will typically be sensitive to hot and cold beverages and foods in the short term, though this will only remain for a few days while he or she gets acclimated to the alterations to their teeth.

In this series, we’ve listed a number of cosmetic dental options. If you would like to set up a visit with Dr. Kinn to talk about these procedures, you can do so here.
